EMDR Therapy in Georgia for Trauma, PTSD, and Anxiety
In Person and Online EMDR Therapy Available Across Georgia
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a proven, evidence-based therapy that helps people process and overcome trauma, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. By using gentle, guided eye movements and bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps your brain reprocess painful memories, reducing their intensity and allowing you to move forward with greater peace and resilience. I offer both in person sessions in Rincon and Telehealth appointments statewide, so whether you’re in the Savannah Area or anywhere else in Georgia, you have access to specialized trauma care.
The never ending cycle
Day after day, you've told yourself this should have faded by now. That enough time has passed. That you should be over it.
You flinch at a slammed door before you've even registered what happened.
Your mind goes blank in the middle of a sentence you knew a second ago.
You count exits in a restaurant without meaning to.
You replay a conversation from years ago like it happened this morning.
You feel foreign in your own skin at ordinary moments, brushing your teeth, driving to work.
You hold your breath through small talk you used to move through without thinking.
None of this means you're broken, or that you're doing this wrong. It means something in you is still protecting you from something that's already over, and hasn't caught up yet to the fact that it's safe to stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based approach that helps people process trauma memories that feel “stuck.” It uses bilateral stimulation, like guided eye movements, to help your brain heal naturally.
-
Unlike talk therapy alone, EMDR goes deeper than just talking about what happened. It helps you release the physical and emotional charge tied to memories so you can feel real relief.
-
No, many people worry about this. While you’ll recall memories, EMDR doesn’t mean sharing every detail out loud. You’re in control, and we go at your pace.
-
You’ll start to notice shifts in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and sometimes others notice before you do.
-
Some people do feel distress as they process old memories. This is usually temporary while your brain forms new, healthier connections. I guide you through the process, and you’ll be supported every step of the way.
-
Every person is different. Some see meaningful shifts in a few sessions; others with complex trauma may use EMDR alongside regular therapy for deeper healing over time.
-
Yes, EMDR is well-researched and widely used. Like any therapy, it can bring up big feelings, but I make sure you feel grounded and supported throughout.
-
While working together you will be provided specific ways to contact me if an issue arises. However, if you feel that you are in danger of hurting yourself or anyone else, the appropriate step is to call or text 911 or 988, or go to your nearest emergency room.
